Most impoverished families in developing countries have no means of transportation. A bicycle provides less time traveling and allows families to carry more goods to sell at the market and more food and fresh water to carry home.
Gifts of Hope provided bicycles to several widows in Rwanda who previously carried heavy containers of water and baskets full of goods for miles at a time. With their new bikes, they have cut their travel time in half and no longer struggle under the weight of their loads.
